our

purpose

  • Mission

Our mission is to create a space where parents can build community through accessible, connection-focused meetups, somatic workshops, and opportunities for holistic well-being and personal integration.

  • Vision

Our vision is to empower parents to thrive in a supportive community where they can cultivate meaningful connections, foster a relationship with their bodies, and embrace their whole-person experience. We envision a world where every parent has access to nurturing spaces that encourage integration, self-care, and the strength of shared experience.

  • Parent Soma

A passion project of MJ’s that centers black queer and black. This is a space that invites parents into “parent integration.“ The idea stems from their own experience as a birth worker and parent. After giving birth, there was a whole new perspective and luckily MJ had mindfulness and reproductive justice principles to lean onto for understanding. Thus bringing this invitation of the integration and honoring of the pre-parent and parent self by inviting your little one into your world as yours is almost entirely engulfed to ground in parenting.

On workshop weekends we will talk babywearing, boundary setting, somatics, caring for ourselves while parents, and importantly ways to integrate your parenting into your life. Here’s to honoring our parent body. All events are open to bringing littles, non-gestational parent, and your whole self.

  • Products

On the side, MJ hand makes body butter, body scrubs, shower soothers, bath salts, and bath bombs. All sales from these products goes directly to paying for our faciliation of the spaces we hold. This funneling allows for us to keep offerings free to no cost so there’s no barrier to being in community. Check out our upcoming markets if you’d like to purchase from us.
